His debut album, Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous, released in 1995, became an instant street sensation. Although it achieved modest commercial success, it later gained recognition as a true classic. Produced by members of Big L’s hip hop group, Diggin’ in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C): Lord Finesse, Buckwild, and Showbiz, Lifestylez seamlessly blended radio appeal with uncompromising hardcore lyricism. Tracks like “Put It On,” “MVP.,” “8 Iz Enuff,” and “Da Graveyard” solidified Big L’s status as a Hip Hop legend, despite being his only studio album before his untimely death in 1999.
